The Doors of Perception
Series
"Doors of Perception" blends art and photography, exploring symbolic doors in nature, inviting personal reflection.
The "Doors of Perception" series captures the transformative journey of a single door, relocated across Scandinavia’s landscapes, inviting viewers to explore personal meaning through its enigmatic presence in nature.

Our Story
The "Doors of Perception" project is a unique fusion of art, photography, and nature, where a single door is painted and relocated to 13 different natural locations across Scandinavia. Each door serves as a symbol, placed in diverse environments that evoke different emotional responses. The process involves both artistic creativity and outdoor exploration, as the door is carefully transported, often to remote, rugged areas that require climbing and navigating challenging terrains.
The project explores the intersection of art and nature, using the door as a metaphorical portal that bridges the physical world with personal introspection. The door itself, though a familiar object, takes on new significance in each setting, inviting viewers to reflect on the meaning of transition, perception, and self-discovery.
While the personal meaning behind each door remains a secret, the viewer is encouraged to find their own connection to the work, interpreting it through their experiences. The project's focus on nature highlights its transformative power, where the beauty and harshness of the environment frame the door in a way that challenges the boundaries of traditional art and photography. Through "Doors of Perception," each image becomes an invitation for contemplation, an open space for introspection, and a visual representation of the unseen journey between art, nature, and meaning.
